Moving to tumblr

Hey everyone,

After much frustration I've now decided to abandon this blog and move over to tumblr. For a while now I've been unable to switch and change some of my settings here on blogger after a lot of upgrades and changes were made and as a result this blog hasn't been indexed at all for a while now which largely defeats the purpose of having this blog as I rely a lot on the SEO for both my blog and website. Don't know if anyone else has had an error pop up after trying to change settings - I've even tried contacting google about it with no replies so tumblr is where I will be posting from now on. I plan on possibly upgrading my website soon too as I do like the design but it hasn't been getting indexed very well either.

Here is a link to my account on tumblr: http://cellesria.tumblr.com/ Would love to see you guys there and I just posted two new work-in-progress there as well!

Feel badly that I haven't posted much for a while but that will change as I now have a lot more time.

Thanks for your visit and support!

Elle Fowler and Pinecone inspired portrait and time-lapse video!

Hey everyone, This portrait is inspired by a YouTuber that I have been subscribed to for a few years now. She is a beauty guru who films makeup tutorials along with product and fashion hauls. Since I have an obsession with makeup and enjoy watching makeup videos on YouTube, naturally I enjoy watching her makeup tutorials most of all though unfortunately she hasn't made many for a while.

Here is a link to Elle's YouTube channel
https://www.youtube.com/user/AllThatGlitters21

Recently I discovered that she had badly injured her back and I was sad to hear the news. I can only imagine how horrible it must be to be confined to your home for so long to heal from something like that. I hope that she makes a full recovery from this and that she is finding some happiness in her current situation. I thought I'd create this portrait for her and record my painting process as well for those interested because not only does she have a beautiful face to paint but I thought perhaps if she saw this that it would cheer her up and perhaps she'd like it.

I always enjoy when she features Pinecone in her videos! He was fun to paint because he's so adorable and I haven't painted many animals before, but I do plan to in the future.

I looked at a few images and video stills of her for reference to study her bone structure, but this image was not copied from any other content.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy it and thanks for your visit!

Effie Trinket Mockingjay inspired look/portrait for a time-lapse video.

Here is a quick inspired painting I created (for a time-lapse painting video) of Effie Trinket with a custom Mockingjay look I created for her. While I always enjoyed her crazy and fabulous Capitol looks, for this painting I wanted to create a darker look to show her likely support for the uprising. The blood splatter across her face symbolizes both the uprising as well as the part she played as a propaganda tool for the Capitol in the annual Hunger Games. Since I do love her colorful looks too, however, I may consider doing another, and much lighter painting of her in the future as well. We probably won't see her looking anything like this in the film but I thought it would be interesting to create a look like this for her.

Really enjoyed Mockinjay but wow it's going to be hard to wait for part 2 now. Definitely as great as the other two films but much darker.

I apologize for all of the zooming in and out throughout the video, I zoom in and out a lot during my workflow and editing all of this out would be a nightmare for me.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy it!

New humanoid alien work in progress preview!

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since my last post due to the fact that I've been busy with a new job and life but also because I've been actually working on several paintings at the same time - some of which will be for a solo exhibition that I will have at the Kelied gallery in September which will have a celestial/sci fi theme (will post an update about this again in the future). This work in progress is a preview of one of them that I'm currently working on - she is a type of humanoid alien creature. I love painting humanoid alien type characters as I think they are beautiful and interesting to paint. There are so many possible directions to go in with the design and I find that a lot of fun.

I would also like to mention that I'm planning to perhaps move this blog to my website in the future and will try and post updates more often.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by! :)

Little preview of artwork for a new Kickstarter project!

I feel badly that I haven't posted any updates here for a while so I thought I'd post a little preview of a new project I've been working on for a Kickstarter campaign - I hope to launch it within a month or two. These previews are still a work in progress but I'm pretty happy with the way the artwork and process is coming along.

Will post more updates soon.

Thanks for your visit! :)

Humanoid Alien ruler/leader/deity work in progress!

Update: Just finished this one! You can check it out here:  http://www.cellesriaart.com/digital-gallery/

Here is yet another (of many works-in-progress) that I have been working on a lot lately and trying to finish. Still quite a lot of work I want to put into it - haven't completely decided what to do with the background yet or the cat-like creature. So far I am pretty happy with the way it is coming along, though there are a few things that I may change.

She is a humanoid alien ruler/leader/deity from another world which is very similar to Earth.

I know that in reality other alien life in the universe would probable be a lot more organic and different and perhaps mostly microbial on other terrestrial worlds but I find humanoid alien creatures beautiful and fascinating and this is fantasy so I had fun. Who knows perhaps there are humanoid creatures like this out there somewhere. Anything is possible! :)

Another Sailor Moon fan-art work in progress (Chibiusa aka Rini)

Hey everyone, I feel badly that I haven't added any updates here for a while so I thought I'd post a preview of this little painting I just started tonight. A few people have been requesting more Sailor Moon fan-art for a while now so I thought I'd finally start a new one. I thought for this next fan-art piece that I'd paint Chibiusa, aka Rini. Pretty happy with the way it's coming along - really looking forward to detailing her hair and eyes next! Another idea I have for a future fan-art piece is possibly the wedding scene, Wicked Lady, the other scouts or Sailor Cosmos, what do you guys think? I'm painting these fan-art pieces mostly for all of you other fans out there and would like to hear your input as to what you'd like to see. :)

Currently I have so many works in progress waiting to be finished. It's not always easy choosing which ones to finish, especially when I am always getting new ideas and inspiration for other new paintings. Life and other work also gets in the way of painting but I do actually have two or so paintings that are almost finished which I hope to upload soon.

I'd also like to let you guys know that some of my artwork is going to be featured in an upcoming issue of ImagineFX! I will post another update about it soon around the time the issue comes out.

Hope you all like this little work in progress and thanks for your visit! :D

New Painting for Halloween!

Just finished this little painting for Halloween which is just a few days away! :D Wanted to take a break from the light paintings and paint something really dark for a change which was fun.

This year I thought I'd paint a vampire inspired a little from Countess Báthory with her lust for blood. I am fascinated with the concept and wanted to create a character that was very different but similar in that aspect and a lot darker. Though this character is not supposed to be Countess Báthory, I may consider painting her in the future since I do find her fascinating.

Painted using Photoshop and Painter.

Thanks for taking a look and have a wonderful Halloween everyone!

New 2013 Calendar!

A new 2013 calendar is now available in my Zazzle Shop which features some of my best artwork.

I'd also like to mention that this may be one of my last posts here since I plan on moving my blog to my WordPress website soon. It just makes more sense to have it there, especially since I have little time to manage both my website and this blogger blog. I will still be posting all of my updates and work in progresses etc. they will just be posted on my websites news page in the future instead.

Take care and thanks for your visit!

New work-in-progress for my art book project!

Update: This painting is now finished! You can check it out on my website Here:  http://www.cellesriaart.com/digital-gallery/

I've been working on some artwork for my art book project and thought I'd post this work-in-progress. I'm currently working on a story for this image as well which is also for the book.

For this work I wanted to create my own unique and beautiful humanoid sea creature. Ballet dancers are a huge inspiration for this work as well as the story as I absolutely love Ballet and am also quite fascinated by deep sea creatures, especially jellyfish. They are so mystical, dangerous, scary and yet so beautiful and delicate the way they move through the water with there flowing silk-like forms. They almost seem to dance through the water and thus I wanted to combine the two to create this painting.

So far I'm quite happy with the way it's coming along and it's been really enjoyable for me. Still quite a lot of details to add though.

This work is titled, "Sea Dancer"

Thanks for your visit, :)

New finished painting titled "The Sakura Garden"!

Hey everyone!

Just finished this new painting and uploaded it to my website gallery as well. I've been working on this one on and off for quite a while (along with a few other paintings too) - it was quite an epic piece. I could have worked into the details forever but at this point I decided to stop since I am now pretty satisfied with the result.

I definitely learned a lot with this one and had a lot of fun painting it. I especially enjoyed designing her Kimono! The flowers in the design represent different traits of her personality and character.

Here are some close-ups

I hope you all like it and thanks for your visit! :D

Snow White (work-in-progress)

Hey everyone :)

Here is another small painting that I started recently of Snow White (my own version). It's still a work-in-progress and needs quite a bit more work but overall I'm pleased with the way it's coming along.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie "Snow White and the Huntsman." Charlize Theron is absolutely gorgeous in this film and I'm really looking forward to seeing her performance as the queen.

I hope to finish this image soon but I have so many works-in-progress waiting to be finished. I plan on uploading some new work to my website soon and I'm also still working on content for my art book project.

Thanks for your visit! :)

New Game of Thrones: Daenerys Targaryen Inspired speed-painting!

Hey everyone, :)

I'm a huge fan of the HBO series "Game of Thrones" and one of my favorite characters on the show is Daenerys so I got inspired to create a quick portrait based on her and thought I'd record my progress. I looked at a few different images of her for reference but did not directly copy any content. I would also like to note that I was not aiming to achieve a perfect likeness with this work, it is merely and inspired portrait.

Painted mostly in Adobe Photoshop with some additional work done in Corel Painter.

Thanks for watching and enjoy! :)
